Again, each piercing and person is different. Your lifestyle greatly affects your healing process. Your job, activities, stress and health all affect your body’s ability to heal.  Piercings generally can take 3 months to over a year to heal. Ear cartilage can take even longer for some people.

Some people do bleed a little. Each piercing and person is different.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes. But pain is subjective. Everyone feels things differently. The actual piercing takes only seconds, by the time you feel it is over.

Will I bleed?

How long will it take to heal?

When should you not get pierced?

If you follow our instructions it is unlikely your piercing will get infected. But remember you are in our care for approx 15 minutes. Your piercing will take many months to fully heal, how you treat and handle your piercing will affect the healing process. Getting your piercing caught, pulled, bumped and changed too soon or too frequently will cause problems that may not be able to be repaired.

At the first sign of any changes or discomfort you should consult your piercer. We are always here to help you.

Can I go swimming or tanning?

Swimming- Fresh piercings, less than 3 months old, should not be submerged in any type of water for long periods of time. A few minutes in the water is fine. Be sure to carry fresh water with you to rinse the piercing  after swimming in any  type of water.

Tanning– Is not good for your skin in general. It is very bad for skin or wounds that are trying to heal. We recommend not tanning or sunbathing with a new piercing. If you must, then you should fully cover your piercing to protect it from harmful light rays. Avoid the piercing area with any tanning or sun lotions.

How long do I have to leave the starter jewelry in for?

This really depends on the piercing location, your healing ability and how well you take care of your piercing during the initial healing phase.

Everyone wants the tiniest cutest jewelry right away but you have to start with a piece that is safe and larger to allow for swelling and healing. Putting in too small of jewelry can cause the jewelry to become imbedded in your skin. Changing your jewelry too soon can damage the delicate tissue that has only just started to heal. This can regress your healing process to day one.

Our recommendations are:

Tongue - 3 weeks

Lip, Labret, Monroe, Cheeks – approx 6 weeks

Nose, Navel, Nipple, Eyebrow -  3-4 months

Tragus, Rook, Helix - 2-3 months

I got pierced at another shop and I’m having problems, can you look at it for me?

It is best to go back to the person that performed the piercing, if they are unwilling to help, you should immediately report them to the health department in the county they are located.

We can try to help you but more than likely you will be going to see a doctor.
